Each parent has an individual right to eighteen (18) weeks of parental leave for each child.
Exception: The duration of parental leave is extended from eighteen (18) to twenty-three (23) weeks in the following cases:
(a) widowed parents
(b) single parents (in cases of loss of custody or non-recognition of the child by the other parent)
