Occupational Safety and Health – Prior Notice for Construction Sites
In accordance with the provisions of Regulation 6 of The Safety and Health at Work (Minimum Requirements for Temporary or Mobile Construction Sites) Regulations of 2015 (R.A.A. 410/2015) the project owner (client) or the contractor (designer and / or supervisor, and / or contractor of the project), forwards, along with the required supporting documents, the prior notice to the District Labour Inspection Office of the District where the site will be located, 14 days prior to the commencement of work.
According to the above Regulations, prior notice must be forwarded to the relevant District Labour Inspection Office in the following cases:
1. When a construction site work is scheduled to last longer than 30 working days and on which more than 20 workers are occupied simultaneously, or on which the volume of work is scheduled to exceed 500 person-days.
2. Structure Demolition, and / or dismantling, and / or disassembly of a structure with a volume greater than 500 cubic meters or 200 square meters.
In the framework of cooperation between the DLI of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Security and the Council for the Registration and Control of Contractors (CRCC), a common prior notice form (DLI-CRCC) has been prepared. The DLI-CRCC form, which is approved by the Chief Inspector and the CRCC Board of Directors, must be forwarded to both DLI District Offices and CRCC District Offices of the District where the site will be located, as explained in the instructions on the form.
The common prior notice form (DLI-CRCC) can be submitted by hand, by mail, by e-mail or by fax.
In accordance with the provisions of Regulation 6, Annex III of the above Regulations, together with the DLI - CRCC form, the following accompanying documents should be submitted to the District Labour Inspection Offices only.
