FAQ
CE Conformity Marking
What is a Notified Body?
It is an organization that undertakes the verification of the conformity assessment of a product to the essential requirements of the relevant European Directive. For a Notified Body to be approved it must submit an application to the member state where it is established and if approved, its details are notified to the European Commission and the other member states. The European Commission then assigns a characteristic identification number. A Notified Body can operate in all member states. The given approval determines the conformity assessment procedures which it can carry out as well as the corresponding European Directives.
