Is the storage and use of LPG allowed underground

According to the provisions of the Petroleum Law the storage and use of LPG underground for example in cellars, basements, etc, is prohibited. The LPG vapours are heavier than air and in case of a leak, LPG accumulates at the lower areas, becomes trapped and can cause an explosion in the presence of ignition source.
