In Cyprus, the practice of transportation of radioactive materials needs to be licensed by the competent authority. Licensees who transport or distribute sources of ionising radiation are obliged, among others, to:
- Keep records;
- Keep records of incidents and notify in such a case the competent authority;
- Maintain an updated comprehensive risk assessment for all sources and practices and radiation safety procedures;
- Ensure the proper labelling of all radioactive materials;
- Comply with the requirements of the ADR.
