The Department of Labour of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance has been appointed as the National Assistance Centre for the implementation of the legislation on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications.
The National Assistance Centre provides information about the national legislation (Law 31(I)/2008 and 34(I)/2017) and the corresponding EU Directive 2005/36IEC as amended by Directive 2013/55/EU concerning the recognition of professional qualifications, to Member States nationals wishing to pursue a regulated profession in the Republic of Cyprus and to Cypriot nationals wishing to pursue a regulated profession in another member state of the European Economic Area, for both permanent and temporary provision of services.
Specifically,
- the National Assistance Centre provides information concerning:
Ø the regulated professions in Cyprus
Ø the competent authorities regulating each profession
Ø the National Assistance Centres of other Member States
Ø the procedure for recognizing the professional qualifications and the right to exercise a regulated profession in Cyprus
- the National Assistance Centre cooperates with all competent authorities in Cyprus as well as in the other Member States, and works closely with the National Coordinator for the implementation of the legislation.
