a) Every employee is entitled to 2 days off fully paid per week. The employer may suspend one of the two weekly days off and grant time or financial compensation at any time during the year.


b) Yes, a hotel employee has to work one of his/her days off, if the employer suspends it.

At hotels that operate on a yearly basis, time or compensation must be granted by the end of March of the following year.

In case of termination of employment, financial compensation of 1:1 shall be paid for the employee’s suspended days off.
