What information does the Safety Data Sheet contain and when is it obligatory to supply it?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) contains in 16 parts all the necessary information for warning the user about the dangerous content of the products as well as information about its safe use, transport and disposal. It also contains information for managing any accidents related with the product. In cases of production or import of that substance in quantities grater than 10 tonnes per year the SDS includes the relevant exposure scenarios for humans and for the environment.

The SDS is obligatory supplied by the manufacturer/importer/distributor (a) to professional users during the first purchase of the product and (b) to consumers whenever they ask for it.
