The International Social Service is an independent, international, non-governmental network which promotes and protects the rights of children, adults and families who meet personal or social problems that arise due to their movement and who require inter-country liaison. The International Social Service runs sub-offices in many countries and has representatives and correspondents in more than 100 countries. The International Programmes of the International Social Service are focused on the welfare of children and of families.
The current programmes are related to children, families and services involved in intercountry adoptions.
The Director of Social Welfare Services is a correspondent to the International Social Service since 1971.
