The main goal of the Ministry is to better deal with the social impact of the economic crisis in our homeland, and establish a strong and effective social State to revive the economy, ensure the well-being of the citizens, and achieve a rapid and balanced development, in conditions of stability, justice and social cohesion.

The Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance acts as a stable, effective and trusted aid of the citizen, providing utmost respect and targeted support to the economically and socially vulnerable groups, in order to find a satisfactory solution to the problems faced.

Our goal is, through an integrated strategy and policy that makes full use of the co-funded programmes of the European Union, to utilize our workforce and our young people so that, through vocational training and retraining of the workforce, to achieve better conditions of employment and the reduction of unemployment in our country.
