CPC Mission

The original long-term objective of the CPC "to assist private and public organizations to utilise their human and capital resources in the best possible way so as to increase productivity" is still valid today. However, following the entry of Cyprus in the EU and the Eurozone, the CPC has focused on areas and actions targeted at supporting and facilitating the adjustment of citizens, organizations, enterprises, the social parties and the state, to globalization.

The CPC channels its activities towards the following areas of high priority for the goverment:

    • Provide scientific and administrative support to the Productivity Council: In May 2007 the Productivity Council approved the National Strategy and the National Productivity Program for the period 2007-2013 as well as the Action Plan for the period 2007-2009. The Productivity Research and Development section manages the implementation of the National Productivity Program.

    • Management of European Programs such as Europass.

    • Mediterranean Institute of Management (MIM) and International Activities

    • Eduation/Training in management development and promotion of Life Long Learning and Productivity in Cypriot companies and organizations.

    • Health and Safety in the workplace- Training Scheme for newly recruited young persons on issues of Health and Safety.

    • Provide support services to the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance: The CPC provides advisory services, administrable support and knowhow to the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance and its departments.

The Cyprus Productivity Centre, in response to the needs of citizens and the labour market affected by the global economic crisis has in its top priorities the following:
    • Company Incentive Scheme for the Enhancement of Employment

    • A joint Subsidy Scheme, coordinated by the Human Resource Development Authority, offering training programmes to people who become umemployed because of the recent economic crisis.
