Shops working hours during the summer period (01/04/2008-31/010/2008)

The Laws that Regulate the Operation of Shops and
the Employment Terms of their Employees of 2006 and 2007

The Labour Relations Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance notifies all interested parties that the working hours for general shops during the summer period (01/04/2008-31/010/2008) will be as follows:

Monday, from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tuesday, from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Thursday, from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, closed

The shops’ summer working hours apply to all shops in all geographical areas. In contrast, the shops’ working hours for the tourist areas apply to all shops but only in specific geographical areas designated by the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance. More information about the tourist areas can be obtained by calling either the district or central offices of the Department of Labour Relations.

Finally, the above mentioned changes do not affect in any way the employees’ rights provided for by Legislation, collective agreements or practice.
