General requirements of Employers and Self-Employed Persons for Safety and Health

Every Employer has a duty to ensure the health, safety and welfare of his/her workers. Also, the Employer must ensure, as far as it is reasonably practicable, that persons who are not under his/her employment, but may be affected by the activities of his/her business will not be exposed to risk. Self-Employed Persons have corresponding duties to protect themselves and other persons.

Employees' Rights

Any employee who has reasonable cause to believe that there is a hazard in his/her workplace or working environment, which might place at risk his/her life/health or the life/health of another person may request, either personally or through his/her representatives, from the relevant District Labour Inspection Office, the inspection of his/her workplace or his/her working environment.

Rights of Third Persons affected by activities

Any person who has reasonable cause to believe that there is a hazard from work activities which places at risk his/her life or health or may request an inspection of the work activities from the relevant District Labour Inspection Office.
