1. In Cyprus, temperature at workplace is regulated by the Safety and Health at Work (Code of Practice for the Protection of Workers from Heat Stress), Order of 2014 and 2020 (P.I. 291/2014 and P.I. 206/2020) and the Minimum Requirements for Safety and Health at the Workplace Regulations of 2002 (P.I. 174/2002 and P.I. 494/2004)

2. Relevant provisions of the legislation include, interalia, the following requirements:
      a. The temperature in the workplace must meet the needs of the human body during working hours, taking into account the applied working methods and the physical effort made by the employees.

      b. At workplaces where continuous work is performed, the temperature and relative humidity must not exceed the Maximum Safety Exposure Limits as defined in the legislation. Employers, are obliged to take appropriate measures (organisational and technical) in order to achieve and maintain the temperature and relative humidity within the defined comfort limits.
